We are no longer dieting, we are practicing healthy dietary guidelines. Our language has to change from what we can’t have to what we can enjoy. Creating healthy food,snacks and drinks can be exciting!
Dr. Frank Hu is Professor of Nutrition and Epidemiology at Harvard School of Public Health, Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and Women’s hospital.
Dr Hu suggest consuming a dietary pattern such as the Mediterranean diet, maintaining a healthy weight, and limiting consumption of products linked to increased diabetes risk, including sugary beverages and processed meats.
In 1993 the Harvard School of Public Health, Oldways Preservation and Exchange Trust, and the European Office of the World Health Organization introduced the Mediterranean Diet Pyramid as a guide to help familiarize people with the most common foods of the region.
