The Maxwell Daily Reader is one of motivational go to books. On May 3 the reading was “Lead Everyone Differently”. “Everyone doesn’t respond to the same kind of leadership” an excerpt from The 360 Leader by John Maxwell. This sentence stuck in my mind. Sunflower is different and she needs to be mentored, coached and loved differently.

Sunflower has experienced challenges,trauma and situations that most people can’t imagine. She will age out of foster care never being adopted, no biological family in her life and expected to progress normally. Odds say she will fail,this has happened on our watch. I don’t want to encourage an excuse for her but I am encouraging you find a new way to help her heal, grow and be successful.

Sunflower can’t be expected to understand hope, love and real caring if she has never experienced this. If you are in a position to help her grow and be “effective” create a plan to complement the desired outcome for her.

I am a constant and consistent advocate for Sunflower. I stand in the gap for her needs,her pain and her future. I hope you will join me in my efforts, she needs us to care.
